SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — Technology company Gogolook has given its guarantee that the personal data of its Whoscall mobile app users, which detect fraud calls will not be exposed to any party.

Its chief executive director (Malaysia) Jym Chee said since the app started in 2018 it has been used in several countries including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, the company has kept its promise in protecting and keeping its users’ personal data safe.

“This is the advantage of using Whoscall compared to other apps that provide the same service. The user’s personal data will not be exposed thus preventing them from becoming victims.

“The company also received the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certification for data security last year,” he told SelangorKini.

State executive councillor for consumer affairs Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni is scheduled to launch the app today at the Selangor State Secretariat Building’s foyer in conjunction with the online fraud awareness forum.

Jym said they decided to give the honour to the Selangor government to launch the app in Malaysia today as a step to increase the awareness of the people of this state on cyber crimes.

“Many residents in the Klang Valley have become victims of cyber crimes so we see the need for this cooperation so that online fraud can be curbed.

“So far more than 800,000 individuals have actively used this app. In conjunction with the launch tomorrow (today) we will give three months of free service to all employees of the Selangor government and its subsidiaries,” he said.
