Asset rebranding for MPKj to achieve city status

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — The Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) has been carrying out a rebranding exercise of its assets since the beginning of this year, as part of its efforts to secure city status, said its president Najmuddin Jemain.

He said the assets include community halls, sports complexes, the Kajang Stadium, bus stops, public recreation parks, tourist spots, housing parks, as well as food courts.

“To strengthen MPKj’s image, all active halls have been rebranded to reflect the assets and facilities belonging to the council, so that residents can more easily remember them.

“It is also a response to the public opinion on MPKj’s efforts to realise its city status, with the new image change having taken place in stages since the start of 2022,” Najmuddin said during MPKj’s eighth council meeting for the year, yesterday.

Meanwhile, he also said MPKj is currently implementing landscape beautification in order to install signboards at the sports complex and recreation center.

“We are also considering a new design for bus stops in MPKj areas, to make it more modern and attention-grabbing.

“Nonetheless, implementing all of this will be subject to the allocation’s amount, as stated during the drafting and consideration phase for the council’s budget,” Najmuddin said.
