SHAH ALAM, Aug 20 — Heavy rain since noon today, has resulted in flash floods at Taman Sri Muda in Section 25 here with water rising to 0.7 metres.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) director Norazam Khamis said they received a call from the public at 4.55pm and arrived at the location 10 minutes later.
“Based on initial reports in areas around Taman Sri Muda, the flood water level has risen to a depth of more than 0.7 metres.
“However, the situation is still under control and flood water has not entered the houses there. In fact, so far no victims have been evacuated,” he said when contacted today.
Norazam added that as precautionary measures, they had deployed two boats to be put on standby in Taman Sri Muda.
“Although the situation is still under control, there are causes of concern with the weather as the rain condition is still erratic.
“Therefore, we brought two boats along with a fire truck and seven personnel to the location, as an early preparation (for any untoward incident) as we continue our monitoring,” he said.
