By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — A new green industrial area will be developed in Kota Seri Langat this year, encompassing an area of 220 acres, said state executive councillor for industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim.

He said the Compass@Kota Seri Langat project fulfills the environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors, as well as sustainable development goals (SDG).

“This project is something to be very proud of as it complies with the state government’s drive of wanting industrial areas to comply with ESGs and SDGs.

“Those of us in Selangor really need industrial areas which fulfill the criteria, so as to ensure sustainable development can take good care of the environment,” Teng said.

He was speaking at the Compass@Kota Seri Langat launching ceremony, held at the UOA Business Park earlier today.

Teng added the project, with a gross development value (GDV) of RM1.2 billion, is being realised in collaboration with Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), KWEST Sdn Bhd, and the AREA Group of Companies (AREA).

He said the project is an excellent start, and hopes other developers will also be able follow suit by engaging in similar projects.
