MB extends condolences over passing of former Selangor MB Khalid

SHAH ALAM, Aug 1 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today expressed his condolences to the family of former Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim, who passed away at 11.08pm last night.

The late Khalid died at the Cardiac Vascular Sentral Hospital in Kuala Lumpur where he had been admitted since April 23 due to an infection of a heart valve.

“I am saddened to hear the news of the passing of former Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.

“May God bless his soul and place him in heaven. My condolences to his family,” he said on Facebook today.

Khalid who was born in Jeram, Kuala Selangor, died at the age of 73, leaving behind his wife, Puan Sri Salbiah Tunut, four children and two grandchildren.

His remains will be brought to Saidina Umar Al Khattab Mosque in Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur, for the funeral rites, before being brought to the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah State Mosque in Section 5 here to allow the people to pay their last respects and offer prayers.

In keeping with a decree of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, Abdul Khalid will be laid to rest at the Shah Alam Royal Mausoleum in Section 5.
