MB lauds Selangor youth participation in community events

AMPANG JAYA, Aug 27 — The Selangor government is proud to see more young people participating in community activities as it helps in creating a new generation of youths who are close to society.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said it has always been the state’s desire to see people from all age groups become united, which was the reason they set up the Selangor Local Youth Movement (PeBS).

“Today’s event (Gombak district-level Hari Belia Negara celebration) was attended not only by youths but people of all ages and this is what we want to see, which is the participation of everyone, especially young people in the community.

“We do not want youths to stay away from the community and hang out only with their peers who share the same interest, as this can lead to both parties having suspicion of each other,” he said.

He said this during the Gombak district-level Hari Belia Negara celebration at Melawati Mall here today,

At the event, Amirudin also flagged off the 300 participants of the bicycle fun ride event. Other various activities held at the event were aerobic exercises and exhibition booths by several government agencies.
