SHAH ALAM, Aug 22 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI donated RM10,000 to the Selangor Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Veterans Association.
Its chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said the contribution will make it easier for the association to provide help to its needy members throughout the state.
“This donation is part of MBI’s allocation for the community. They informed us it is needed to purchase diapers for disabled members, death contributions, and so on.
“As such, we hope this MBI donation will help,” she said during the MBI Independence Day celebration ceremony with Selangor ATM Veterans, at Bangunan Darul Ehsan.
Norita added that MBI also contributed RM500 to 10 veterans who attended. The programme is being held for the first time, so that MBI personnel can meet association members.
“We want to raise awareness and uplift the spirit of MBI personnel, so they can comprehend the meaning of the nation’s independence. Be it at home, in the office or anywhere, we have to fight for something,” she said.
