MBPJ bags creative park award at Royal Floria Putrajaya 2022

SHAH ALAM, Aug 30 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has won the technology park and creative innovation award at the Royal Floria Putrajaya 2022 flower and garden festival.

The local council said the “PJ Love U” themed park took first place in the government agency and corporate category after integrating a low-carbon landscape concept.

“The park is a result of the council’s initiative to promote green living, the use of sustainable technology, and relatively low carbon emissions.

“The efforts are being made to prevent the impacts of climate change in Petaling Jaya city, in line with its Smart, Sustainable and Resilient 2030 strategic plan,” said the local authority on Facebook.

Yesterday, Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah graced the opening of the Royal Floria Putrajaya 2022 and visited the festival that displays numerous flower species and decorative plant cultivars.

Tunku Azizah had also visited the MBPJ Park, accompanied by Petaling Jaya mayor Mohamad Azhan Md Amir.

Themed Great Floria, the 12th edition of the festival is open to visitors for seven days until September 4.

Over the course of the seven-day festival, around 10,000 orchids and 400,000 plants of diverse varieties are brought together for the event.
