MBPJ extends tax assessment rebates for environmental-friendly house owners until September 30

SHAH ALAM, Aug 29 — The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) has extended the application period for tax assessment rebates to environmental-friendly homeowners in areas under its jurisdiction to September 30.

MBPJ’s Corporate Communication Unit said the application can be done via the local council e-Rebate mobile app or at www.mbpj.gov.my.

The rebate, introduced on June 30, offers a 100 per cent waive of the annual assessment tax or RM500, whichever is lower.

“The scheme aimed to promote an environmentally-friendly lifestyle among the people thus making Petaling Jaya a low carbon city.

“The assessment tax rebate is offered to owners who make their homes environmentally friendly in terms of energy, water, biological diversity, waste management and transportation,” it said in a statement.
