SHAH ALAM, Aug 13 — The Kuala Langat Municipal Council (MPKL) has issued 10 notices to the homeowners in Taman Langat Utama, Kuala Langat, for constructing additional structures without permission.

Its president Dato’ Amirul Azizul Abd Rahim said the notices were distributed on Thursday during an integrated operation by officials from the Building Control and Enforcement Departments.

“Two weeks have been given to the homeowners to demolish the construction,” he told Selangorkini.

The offence is committed in accordance with Section 46(1)(a) of the Street, Drainage, and Buildings Act 1974 (Act 133), which states on the setting up of a wall, fence, rail, post, or other public obstruction.

Meanwhile, Amirul Azizul stressed that owners who do not comply during the allotted time will be charged a compound.

“If the owner doesn’t pay for the compound, demolition will be done in a special operation,” he added.
