MPKS invites hawkers for free training to boost income

SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 — The Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) is inviting traders to participate in the Selangor Micro-Hawker Development Training programme on August 22.

The local authority said the free program, in collaboration with Selangor Platform (Plats), will be held at Dewan MPKS Bandar Baru in Kuala Selangor.

“Participants will be exposed to the basics of business digitisation, the adaptation of cashless payment transactions, and business management on social media,” it said in a Facebook post.

Participants are limited to the first 100 registrants only, who also stand a chance at receiving RM100 in cash.

Those interested may provide their personal details by registering at https://forms.gle/Ddbr6D14iK4d2ATE8. Any queries can be forwarded to Erliana at 03-3289 1439.

At present, an estimated 14,470 traders have benefited by participating in Plats.

The platform was first introduced during the month of Ramadan two years ago, to complete the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem with a digital platform, following the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.

On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to help traders generate continuous income instead of only being limited to the fasting month.

Plats 3.0 was again continued this April, with a collaboration between Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad, Rakan Digital Selangor, and the state’s 12 local authorities.
