SHAH ALAM, Aug 4 — The Kuala Selangor Municipal Council (MPKS) and the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) will organise a World Firefly Day celebration at the Kampung Kuantan Firefly Sanctuary on Saturday (August 6).
The programme from 8am to 4pm will provide various activities including a briefing on fireflies, an insect exhibition, and other entertaining activities.
The World Firefly Day celebration is part of the 2022 Kuala Selangor Carnival, which will take place in seven locations from tomorrow until Sunday (August 7).
The three-day event also features several interesting activities including a river cruise, an udang galah (giant freshwater prawn) festival and a fishing competition.
In addition, there will be drawing and art sculpture competitions, as well as cooking, colouring and storytelling contests, and a lucky draw for attending visitors.
