Nooh Gadut appointed new MKI Muzakarah committee chairman

SHAH ALAM, Aug 15 — Former Johor Mufti Datuk Nooh Gadut has been appointed the new chairman of the Muzakarah Committee and National Council for Islamic Religious Affairs (MKI).

According to a post on Selangor Royal Office Facebook, the appointment was approved by the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj and is effective from June 30 this year until June 29, 2024.

“Today, as MKI chairman, His Royal Highness presented the appointment letter at Istana Bukit Kayangan, Shah Alam, and witnessed the handing over of duties from MKI Muzakarah Committee’s previous chairman Datuk Wan Zahidi Wan Teh, who is also Perak Mufti,” read the statement.

Nooh served as the 11th Johor Mufti from 1999 until 2008.
