SHAH ALAM, Aug 5 — A total of 14,517 traders and small hawkers joined the Selangor Platform (Plats) to expand their business network, as of July 31.
It said traders in the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) area managed to register with the platform during the Jelajah Selayong Penyayang roadshow in Gombak, at the end of last month.
“The number of Plats dealers at MPS locations to date is 490, with the total number of registered dealers under Plats Selangor being 14,517, as of July 31, 2022,” Plats said in a Facebook post.
Earlier on, its coordinator Azizul Hussin said Plats is targeting 20,000 small hawkers inclined to go digital, to join the platform by the end of the year.
Plats was first introduced during the month of Ramadan two years ago, to complete the Selangor Digitalisation Agenda ecosystem with a digital platform, following the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.
On April 11 last year, Plats 2.0 was launched to help traders generate continuous income instead of only being limited to the fasting month.
Plats 3.0 was again continued this April, with a collaboration between Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad, Rakan Digital Selangor, and the state’s 12 local authorities.
