SHAH ALAM, Aug 25 — Preparations by the state government for the upcoming Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2022 in September are now being finalised, said state executive councillor for trade and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Kim.
He said up to 90 per cent of the exhibition’s space has already been booked by both domestic and international companies.
“We are still receiving requests from several organisations which have expressed interest in joining SAS 2022, which will take place on September 8 onwards.
“In total, the current number of aircraft and vessels that have agreed to participate in the exhibition is higher than last year,” Teng said.
He was speaking to the media during the Compass@Kota Seri Langat launching ceremony at UOA Business Park earlier today.
Teng added that Italy, New Zealand and Turkey are among the six nations which participated SAS 2021, with the number expected to increase this year via invitations to several other countries.
Several of the companies which have confirmed their participation include Sapura Aero, Destini Avia Technique, Epic Aero, DJI Academy, Superb Access, BCS Aviation, Bibus Metals, Sirim, and International Aero Training Academy.
The inaugural exhibition was held from November 25 to November 27 last year, and managed to attract up to RM100 million in investments, and also saw 12 memorandums of understanding signed among the aerospace industry’s subsectors.
