SHAH ALAM, Aug 22 — The Selangor government’ delegation’s recent trip to Türkiye met with several organisations and figures to promote the state as an ideal aerospace and investment hub.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the visit is also aimed at exploring collaboration spaces in several key industries.

“Looking at the significant investment value of Selangor’s aerospace industry, the Selangor Clusterisation agenda has witnessed the potential of Sepang and Subang as the two main aerospace industry hubs, that at the present has been proven with 65 per cent of the entire sector in Malaysia operating in Selangor,” he said in a Facebook post.

Amirudin and the delegation visited aerospace company APA Bilgi Teknolojileri in Ankara, which he said produced a consensus on several matters aimed at expanding the aerospace industry’s prospects in Selangor.

“APA Bilgi is the main provider of flight simulators and air traffic control for Turkish Airlines. Due to their participation in the 2021 Selangor Aviation Show last year, the state government has succeded in garnering their interest to invest in Selangor, in collaboration with HM Aerospace, by establishing a modern aircraft simulator training center.

“We also met with APA Bilgi chairman Sulayman Adanur and his team. In addition, Mr Sulayman is also the president of the Association of Entrepreneurs and Bureaucrats for Turkey’s leading football team Trabzonspor FC, which managed to become the Türkiye Super League Champion last season,” he said.

The delegation also paid a visit to the Turkish Airlines Training Centre in Istanbul, which Amirudin praised as building simulator components that stand in a class of their own.

“Our commitment is reinforced through the vision as encapsulated in the First Selangor Plan (RS-1), displaying the close relationship of the aerospace industry with technical and vocational education and training. The visit to APA Bilgi Teknolojileri managed to produce a consensus in developing the prospects of Selangor’s aerospace industry,”

InsyaAllah, something will come about in the state via this cooperation in the future,” he said.
