Selangor Immigration Department introduces kiosk for international passport applications

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, Aug 16 — The Immigration Department in Selangor has introduced the MyOnline Passport Kiosk to facilitate passport application processes for the public.

It said there is an estimated 2,900 applications per day or close to 60,000 applications per month for international Malaysian passports in Selangor.

“Based on this, the department is taking a proactive approach by creating this kiosk and to provide services to attending customers, so they can get their passports more easily and quickly.

“The initiative is in line with the progress and development in today’s digital world, which fulfils the growing demand of customers,” the Immigration Department said in a statement yesterday.

The department said the kiosk facility will help customers who come directly to its branch office at UTC Selangor in Shah Alam, particularly during peak hours.

“Eligible categories for this kiosk facility include applicants aged 13 and above who are not from the new passport application category, the elderly, and disabled persons.

“Others include those with lost or damaged passports, or students aged 21 and under seeking to continue their studies abroad,” it said.
