Selangor Saring: Free health checks in three locations today, tomorrow

SHAH ALAM, Aug 13 — The Selangor Saring free health screening programme will be held in three state constituencies today and tomorrow.

The initiative will be carried out at Dewan Rozel MBSA, Seksyen U6 (Kota Damansara) today, while on Sunday, the event will be at Dewan Rafflesia MBSA (Kota Anggerik) and Dewan Teratai Batu 17 Rawang (Rawang).

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said that the programme aims to educate the public on health awareness and early prevention.

“The cost of living, including healthcare, is on the rise.

“Being fit and healthy is a blessing. Don’t wait any longer. Come and register right away,” she said on Facebook.

The state government has allocated RM3.4 million to support the programme, which would help 39,000 people, especially those who are obese and lead unhealthy lifestyles and have a medical history in their families.

The programme offers physical examinations, blood and urine tests, eye, cervical, and breast cancer screenings, as well as occult faeces or colon and prostate cancer testing, up until September 4.
