Selangor Tengku Permaisuri launches Padat books on Malay culture, customs

SHAH ALAM, Aug 8 — The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin officiated the launch of seven books published by the Selangor Malay Customs and Heritage Corporation (Padat) earlier today.

The books include Kesenian Telepuk Warisan Melayu Selangor, Penyelidikan Terkini Nisan Aceh di Selangor, and Warisan Telepuk Alam Melayu, all written by Intan Salina Idrus.

Other book titles are Kebaya Selangor (by Rohayu Mohd Yunus), Permainan Wau Kapal (by Abdullah Anas Abu Bakar), Sulaman Kelingkan Melayu (by Mohd Subli Musa) and Tarian Piring Selangor (by Mohd Lotfi Nazar).

The ceremony was officiated by Her Royal Highness at the Raja Tun Uda Library here.

The publication of the books is part of Padat’s efforts to preserve and document Selangor’s heritage, tradition and culture as sources of reference for the community and younger generations.
