Upgrades, maintenance works for Sungai Rasa WTP begins on schedule

By Nasuha Badrul Huzaini

SHAH ALAM, Aug 9 — The asset upgrading and maintenance works on critical assets for the Sungai Rasa Water Treatment Plant (Sg Rasa WTP) began at 9am today morning and are on schedule as planned.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the works are expected to be completed at 9pm today.

“Water supply will be distributed in stages to consumers once the water supply distribution system has been stabilised,” it said in a statement today

Air Selangor said the duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary, depending on the distance of the consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.

“The water supply in all 188 areas in the Hulu Selangor region is expected to be fully restored by 1am on August 11,” said the agency.

Air Selangor said it has mobilised water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics and dialysis centres and funerals.

For commercial customers, Air Selangor said treated water supply could be purchased over its customer service counter in the Petaling and Gombak regions.

“Commercial customers could bring their own water tankers to the water filling stations in Batu Caves and Damai Utama, Puchong,” said Air Selangor.

Consumers can obtain information on scheduled water supply disruptions from time to time through Air Selangor’s official communication channels including the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, or contact Air Selangor at 15300.

Questions and complaints can be submitted to the Help Centre on the website www.airselangor.com and on the Air Selangor app.
