Water supply to all 397 areas in three districts fully restored — Air Selangor

By Jerry Choong

SHAH ALAM, Aug 12 — The water supply to the areas in Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat which were affected by the oil spillage incident on Wednesday has now been fully restored.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd said the water supply fully recovered by 3pm.

“Air Selangor would like to thank consumers for their patience and cooperation during this water supply disruption period.

The unscheduled water disruption began yesterday in Petaling (3 areas), Kuala Lumpur (172 areas) and Hulu Langat (222 areas), following the temporary shutdown of the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant.

The temporary closure was due to a pollution incident on August 10 caused by an oil spillage at Sungai Semantan in Karak, Pahang, after an accident along the KM75.9 Karak – Bentong Highway heading towards Kuala Lumpur.
