GOMBAK, Sept 25 — Some 1,500 residents attended the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat (JER) affordable goods sale, held at Laman Bougainvilla Kampung Sungai Kertas here today.

The public was seen queuing for the programme organised by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) in the Sungai Kertas state constituency from 8.30am.

The event, which ran from 9am until 1pm, offered various daily food items including chicken, egg, fresh meat and cooking oil at prices lower than the market.

On August 30, Amirudin announced that the state administration has allocated an additional RM10 million to continue the programme under Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat throughout the 56 state constituencies from August 31 to December 31.

He said the programme would focus on offering six basic items, namely chicken (RM10 each), beef (RM10 per pack), mackerel fish (RM6 per pack), grade B eggs (RM10 per tray), 10 kilogrammes (kg) rice (RM10 per pack) and 5 kg cooking oil (RM25 per bottle).
