PETALING JAYA, Sept 19 — Six instalments of the affordable sales programme in Bukit Gasing over the past two weeks have benefitted nearly 1,000 people.

Its state assemblyman R Rajiv said the Jualan Ehsan Rakyat programme in the constituency will continue in three other locations this week.

“Since early this month, the programme, organised by the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation, has been held in six locations. We sold 300 chickens and other basic food items including rice, fish, eggs and cooking oil at each location.

“Since the programme was well-received, it will continue at Kampung Damansara this Thursday (September 22) and at Flat Bistari, Damansara and Flat Gasing Indah on Friday (September 23).

“We hope the residents living nearby the area will take advantage of the programme,” he said.

Rajiv had also suggested that the number of items sold at the programme to be increased as it would provide more chances for the people to enjoy they sales.

“We truly support this programme. If possible, we want it to be held every week as it helps people to save up,” he said.

The Selangor government’s affordable sales roadshow programme was initiated in conjunction with the National Day with a total allocation of RM10 million.

From September 6 to December 6, whole chickens are sold at RM10 per piece, fresh meat at RM10 per pack, grade B eggs at RM10 per pack and mackerel fish at RM6 per pack.
