GOMBAK, Sept 18 — The total sales collection from the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat initiative has reached its target with RM20,000 in sales recorded at each location beginning September 6.

Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) chief executive officer Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the programme received a positive response from the locals despite only six items being up for sale at the event.

“Even though only six items were on offer, the total sales exceeded RM1 million with a subsidy worth RM545,000.

“So far, the total sales from the roadshow have reached the set target where each location recorded a total of RM20,000,” he said to SelangorKini when met at the roadshow event for the Sungai Tua state constituency at Padang Awam Batu Caves, here today.

Mohamad Khairil said for the roadshow, all PKPS staff were involved in the programme daily, except on Mondays, to ensure that the programme runs smoothly.

“We have 300 staff at the headquarters, excluding those at the farms. All of the staff were mobilised to the locations and no exceptions were made.

“PKPS is prepared to assist the general public and the state government, and we try to deliver our best,” he said.

The Selangor government’s affordable sales roadshow programme, which is organised by PKPS, was initiated in conjunction with the National Day with a total allocation of RM10 million.

Starting from September 6 until December 6, whole chickens are sold at RM10 per piece, fresh meat at RM10 per pack, grade B eggs at RM10 per pack and mackerel fish at RM6 per pack.
