Air Selangor donates basic food to charity homes for National Day

SHAH ALAM, Sept 1 — Three charity homes in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur received donations of the Box Of Hope basic food aid, in conjunction with the National Day celebrations on 30 August.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the homes include Pusat Jagaan dan Rawatan Orang Tua Al-Ikhlas, Pusat Jagaan Anbe Sivam, and Pertubuhan Kebajikan Ehsan Ash-Shakur.

The homes received supplies of rice, oil, sugar, flour and other basic necessities.

“Air Selangor has also launched a digital version of the Box of Hope initiative via www.airselangor.com/boxofhope/, to encourage and facilitate the public in extending help to those in need,” it said in a Facebook post.

According to Air Selangor’s website, approximately 2,055 food baskets have been distributed to the needy and underprivileged since 2021.

It also said an online learning device was donated to Projek Perumahan Rakyat public housing community centres.

“Air Selangor aims to distribute 100 units of suchdevice to at least 10 community centres around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, and assist children from B40 families to undergo their online learning sessions,” said the agency.
