Anis offers free screening for special needs children

By Mustakim Ramli

SHAH ALAM, Sept 9 — The Selangor Special Needs Children’s Department (Anis) invites parents of children with special needs to spare two hours to bring their kids for free early screening.

The agency informed that the screening programme is specifically for children who have never undergone any checks and have never gotten a referral from a specialist doctor.

“A summary of the report by a group of experts in various fields such as occupational therapy, speech therapy and doctors will be given to parents for further action.

“The main purpose of early screening is to help parents identify their child’s developmental level and plan early intervention for special needs children,” said Anis on Facebook.

Applications can be made online at https://www.anisselangor.com/daftarsaringan.

Previously, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had announced an RM3 million allocation to implement various initiatives through AnIS this year.

He said among the efforts were the establishment of Anis Academy and financial assistance to make the Didik Anis programme a success.
