Apply for state protection scheme at community service centres starting Oct 1

SHAH ALAM, Sept 26 — Members of the public can apply for the benefits of the Insurans Hayat Selangor (Insan) scheme, at their respective state constituency community service centres beginning on October 1.

According to Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI, RM10,000 to RM20,000 in general protection has been allocated for the continuous welfare of state residents.

“The assistance will be greatly beneficial to the recipient’s family, in the event of their death,” said MBI corporate social responsibility head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor.

On August 30, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said an estimated six million Selangor residents are expected to benefit from group general insurance coverage, with the premium fully borne by the state government.

He said the initiative is offered to residents aged 30 days to 80 years, as part of the efforts to ease the burdens of those facing a myriad of problems.

As such, each individual will receive up to RM10,000 in coverage for death, accidents and injuries according to type.
