Come and pitch in your ideas on redevelopment of industrial area, PJ locals told

PETALING JAYA, Sept 19 — The industrial areas in Section 19, Section 51 and Section 52A, here, will undergo a redevelopment process by the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

Bukit Gasing state assemblyman R Rajiv said the development, which covers an area of 1,000 acres, would include public amenities and transportation.

He said the plan has now moved into its second phase, during which the local council has been actively gathering suggestions and opinions from the public, locals and landowners.

“The first phase, which involves the process of identifying the area, landowners and determining whether the sites are still in use or abandoned, has concluded. From tomorrow until Thursday, we will open up a session to gather opinions from the stakeholders.

“Therefore, we would like to invite the residents to come and share their ideas so that the project could run smoothly. The session will be held at Dewan Sivik MBPJ at 9am,” he said at a press conference, here today.

Rajiv said that all of the ideas shared during the session will be reviewed before the redevelopment plan takes place within the next six to 12 months.

“Before the project begins, we will share the thorough plans with all parties. We invite everyone to contribute any ideas that could be helpful to all.

“We would like to assure the residents that there’s not much to worry about as we would like to have a two-way communication and ensure that the final decision is agreed by all parties,” he added.
