Five state districts to see inclement weather until 9am — MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM, Sept 9 — Heavy rains, strong winds and thunderstorms are expected for five Selangor districts until today morning, said the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a statement issued at 6am, the agency said the districts include Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

“Other affected states and territories include Melaka, Kelantan (Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai) and Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu and Marang).

“Similarly, Negeri Sembilan (Port Dickson and Rembau) and Sarawak: Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Bintulu and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) will also see inclement weather.

The weather is expected to persist until 9am.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
