SUBANG, Sept 8 — The joyride activity organised in conjunction with the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2022 was met with an overwhelming response from those taking part in the three-day air show as all of the sessions were fully booked.

Following the feedback, state executive councillor for investment, industry and trade Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said Invest Selangor Bhd had decided to open up the activity earlier as it was initially scheduled to be held on the third day

He said visitors can now book for a joyride session today and tomorrow from three aircraft operators.

“The joyride is part of the newly featured activities for this year, aiming to attract more visitors to the air show and to make it more lively. It offers an unforgettable moment for the participants who get to enjoy the view of the Shah Alam city centre.

“The flying session would roughly take around 10 minutes including take-off and landing procedures.

“In total, there are five light aircrafts and two helicopters involved in the activity with a fee of RM200 per head,” he said at a press conference after witnessing the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signing ceremony between Systematic Aviation Services Sdn Bhd and Oriental Sky Sdn Bhd.

The MoA was inked to develop cooperation between the two parties in the areas of amphibian aircraft maintenance and flight operations.

The three-day event was officiated by Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah. Also in attendance were Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz and Invest Selangor chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris.

The air show has attracted industry players from Thailand, Indonesia, China & Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Brazil, Canada, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Nigeria, United Kingdom and the United States to participate in the event.
