Lorry driver held for abusing his twin sons

SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 — Police arrested a lorry driver in Jalan Bendahara 8, Taman Sentosa, Klang, near here, yesterday on suspicion of abusing his 11-year-old twin sons.

Klang Selatan district police chief ACP Cha Hoong Fong said the 44-year-old suspect was picked up in the vicinity of his house at 7.30pm by a police patrol car squad.

Cha said the man, who has three other children, was said to be a hot-tempered person who often beat up the twins for frequently going out of the house and coming back late.

“There were injury marks on the bodies of the two boys due to beatings by the suspect, but no treatment was given and there were no police reports made prior to this,” he said in a statement today.

He said the suspect had three previous records for drugs and other crimes.

Cha said the suspect had been remanded for four days from today for investigation under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
