MBSJ, Bomba hold water rescue trainings to prepare for floods

SHAH ALAM, Sept 24 — Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) held a water rescue training exercise as part of its flood preparation at Puchong Prima Lake yesterday.

The local council said the programme was held with cooperation from the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) to prepare their teams for the upcoming Northeast Monsoon and the high-tide phenomenon.

The water rescue training exercise and simulation demonstration was also participated by Petaling Land and Mines Office and MBSJ Special Action Squad (Pantas).

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) has reported that eight of Selangor’s nine districts are identified as flood hotspots.

The Department of Irrigation and Drainage stated the districts include Klang, Petaling, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Sepang, Kuala Langat, Sabak Bernam, and Kuala Selangor. Only Hulu Selangor is not listed as a flood hotspot.
