SHAH ALAM, Sept 25 — Six lorries were seized by the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) for encroaching into state government land and conducting illegal dumping in an operation near the Pulau Indah Expressway in Port Klang.

MPK in a statement said they took action after receiving a report from the public regarding the offences in addition to the video that went viral on social media.

“Based on our intel, MPK had seized six lorries with the capacity between three to 16 tonnes, from April until September. The vehicles were used to illegally dump garbage on land belonging to a state government agency near the Pulau Indah Expressway.

“MPK also had issued a Land Activity Cease of Operation Notice under Section 70 A of the Street, Drainage and Buildings Act 1974,” the local council said.

The local authority also reminded that they will not compromise on the issue of illegal dumping and will ensure that every offender faces maximum action including confiscation of the lorry.

The public is welcome to file a complaint regarding encroachment or cleanliness issues via WhatsApp at 03-3371 4404.
