SUBANG, Sept 10 — The helicopter joyride has proven to be among the most-anticipated activities at the Selangor Aviation Show (SAS) 2022.

Systematic Aviation Services Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ida Adora Asha’ari Ismail said they have received over 1,000 bookings for the joyride throughout the three-day event, which began on Thursday (September 8)

The company offers a 10-minute joyride, at RM200 per seat.

“On the first day of SAS 2022, we did 20 flights and the participants’ responses were very enthusiastic, with all tickets sold out.

“Initially, we provided only one helicopter for the session but in light of the responses, we added another helicopter to ensure the joyrides can carry on smoothly, especially today when the air show is open to public visitors.

“Even though all the sessions have been fully booked, we will try our best to accommodate walk-in visitors, should there be any last-minute cancellations,” she said when met at SAS 2022 yesterday.

The joyride is one of the new feature activities for this year, aiming to attract more visitors to the air show and make it more lively.

It offers an unforgettable moment for participants as they get to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the Shah Alam city centre.

A group of media practitioners, including from Media Selangor, took part in the joyride and were flown above the i-City area, the Shah Alam Stadium and the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque.

Ida said there are many things to see, as soon as passengers board the helicopters.

“Since SAS 2022 is hosted by the state government, we showcase to passengers on what Selangor has to offer, hence our decision to feature Shah Alam as seen from above,” she said, adding the company has no restrictions on who can participate in the joyrides.

The second installment of SAS 2022 was officiated by the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah on Thursday.
