Petaling Jaya Book Expo is back from Sept 3-11 at Dewan Sivik MBPJ

SHAH ALAM, Sept 1 – The Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) will be organising the Petaling Jaya Book Expo (PJBX) at the Dewan Sivik MBPJ for nine days starting September 3.

The local council said the book fair that is jointly organised with the Malaysian Book Publishers Association (MABOPA) will open from 9am to 6pm.

“This is one of the signature events for the Petaling Jaya which has previously received the Learning City Award from United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco),” said MBPJ on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the PJBX website stated that 40 exhibitors will be involved in the expo that will run until September 11.

In addition to sales of books, the expo will also hold examinations seminars, colouring and storytelling contests, book discussions and book review sessions.

On January 31, 2019, Petaling Jaya was named among the 10 cities in the world that received the Learning City Award 2019.

This award was given by Unesco in recognition of the various achievements and initiatives undertaken by MBPJ, especially in the field of education.
