Selangor fully supports MSNS plans to increase sporting excellence — MB

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

KLANG, Sept 6 — The state government will give its full support and commitment to each and every plan laid out by the Selangor State Sports Council (MSNS), in order to ensure Selangor’s sporting excellence.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said success does not solely rely on athletes, experienced trainers, or a sufficient number of facilities, but is equally influenced by the sheer dedication all parties must exhibit.

“This should be an important fact when it comes to further improving the performance of sports in Selangor. The state government itself has always provided full support and commitment to every plan arranged by MSNS,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking at the victory incentive presentation ceremony for Selangor athletes who participated in the Hanoi SEA Games and the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, at Istana Alam Shah earlier today.

During the ceremony, the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah presented incentives to the 28 athletes who successfully contributed medals to the Malaysian contingent in both games.

Women’s doubles badminton player M. Thinaah, 24, headed the list with a RM23,000 incentive, following her successful contribution to two gold medals in the recent Commonwealth Games.
