Selangor garners third gold medal in Sukma 2022

SHAH ALAM, Sept 17 — Selangor recorded another gold medal for the 20th Malaysian Games (Sukma), won by Muhammad Aliff Aiman Mohd Hassri in the compound 50-metre event.

Taking place at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) in Nilai, fellow athlete Nik Ahmad Danial Mohd Kamarolzaman won a bronze medal in the same event.

Yesterday saw Selangor win gold in the under-75 kg men’s individual category kumite event, through M. Gogulnath. The state’s first gold medal was achieved by wushu athlete Mandy Cebelle Chen the day before.

The state’s total tally so far stands at three gold medals, 12 silver medals, and six bronze medals.

Selangor is aiming for 40 gold and silver medals respectively, as well as 45 bronze medals for the current edition of the games, which runs from September 16 to September 24.

Approximately 490 athletes and 75 trainers will take part in 30 types of sports.
