SHAH ALAM, Sept 19 — The planned construction of Southeast Asia’s largest e-sports development centre in Selangor is anticipated to start next year.

State executive councillor for youth development Mohd Khairuddin Othman said the project was initially scheduled to start this year but was delayed due to a number of unresolved problems.

“Some of the issues include the land status, which the state government is currently addressing. The construction of the centre is anticipated to start next year.

“The centre would provide services beyond the usual sports facilities as it will be equipped with accommodation and simulation training,” he told SelangorKini when contacted today.

A cost of over RM10 million is expected to construct the largest e-sports development centre in Southeast Asia.

The facility will occupy the former Carlton Hotel building in Section 13, here, which will be renovated and equipped with training academy, accommodation and studios.
