KLANG, Sept 17 — The state government will organize the 2022 Selangor Cultural Fiesta under the aegis of Rentak Selangor, through five main programmes running from October to December.

State executive councillor for culture and heritage Borhan Aman Shah said one of the programmes will be the attempt to set a record for the Malaysian Book of Records (MBOR) for Selangor Nasi Ambeng Fiesta in December.

“In that programme, we will serve approximately 2,022 trays of nasi ambeng, to mark the year 2022. We have proposed it be held at Bagan Lalang in Sepang.

“Nonetheless, I am concerned about the weather, in light of the predicted severe at the end of this year. We pray everything will go smoothly,” he told SelangorKini.

In addition to the Selangor Nasi Ambeng Fiesta, Borhan said the four other programmes include Selangor Cempuling Competition, the Selangor Wau Kapal Competition, the Selangor Keroncong Competition, and the Rentak Selangor Concert.

The concert will be held at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in November, with its special guests to be announced later.

“We are planning to invite a line-up of local artists and art activists from every Selangor district for the concert,” he said.

The state government launched Rentak Selangor to promote the arts and cultural activities in each of the state’s districts.

The programme additionally aids activists in promoting the arts and culture to tourists, in collaboration with Tourism Selangor.
