Fast track manual by MPK to expedite industrial buildings planning’s approval process

By Suhaila Shahrul Annuar

KLANG, Oct 31 — The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) has provided a fast track manual for the approval process of industrial buildings planning, to overcome transparency and delay issues.

Its president Noraini Roslan said the manual, which will be used starting tomorrow, will serve as a guide and reference to applicants, negotiators, and landowners on the process and its technical requirements.

“MPK provides the manual to help ease and expedite the planning approval of industrial buildings within two to four weeks, and the manual will be adopted tomorrow (November 1),” she said during the local council’s meeting today.

Noraini added the manual was developed after taking into consideration the guidelines provided by the Housing and Local Government Ministry, as well as the Selangor Economic Planning Unit.

“It will be sold at RM100 for every application for Planning Approval and Construction of Industrial Buildings, and can be purchased at MPK’s Urban and Rural Planning Department counter,” she said.

The council will also provide additional counters and mobile counters at several shopping centres in November.

Noraini said the initiative will facilitate local residents carrying out various things like carrying on their affairs including paying their assessment tax, renewing licences including for business, industry and advertising for 2023.

“I urge the public to take advantage of the additional services and complete their tax payments, or renew their business licences during this time,” she said.

Noraini said the extra counters will be opened at AEON Big Kapar from November 5 to November 6, GM Klang from November 12 to November 13, and AEON Bukit Raja from November 26 to November 27, operating from 10.30am to 5pm.

“The mobile counters will also be available at Sentosa NSK Hypermarket in Taman Sentosa from November 12 to November 13 as well as at the Pandamaran Flat from November 26 to November 27, operating from 9am to 1pm,” she said.
