Kloth Cares: 1,000kg of used clothing collected from KDEBWM recycling bin

SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 — A total of 1,000 kilograms (kg) of used fabric were collected within three months from the recycling bin provided by KDEWB Waste Management Sdn Bhd (KDEBWM), in collaboration with Kloth Cares.

Kloth Cares co-founder Nik Suzila Hassan said a high number of preloved items were donated in a short period even though the recycling bin was only put in the community recycling centre in Cyberjaya in July.

“Due to the overwhelming response, a second recycling bin was set up in the lobby of Menara Bank Rakyat Shah Alam, Section 14.

“This recycling facility allows those working at the office building to easily recycle used fabric-based items,” she said after the launch of the Kloth Cares recycling bin, in collaboration with KDEBWM, at the Menara Bank Rakyat Shah Alam lobby, here yesterday.

Also present were KDEBWM Subsidiary Management and Project Executive general manager Ahadi Mohd Nasir and Media Selangor group editor Fathi Aris Omar.

Kloth Cares is a local social entrepreneurship movement that applies the 3R concept (reuse, reduce and recycle).
