MB extends condolences over passing of Anwar’s mother-in-law

SHAH ALAM, Oct 24 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari expresses his condolences to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah on the passing of the latter’s beloved mother, Mariah Khamis, at 8.41am today.

“Condolences to Anwar and Kak Wan on the passing of your beloved mother. May God bless her soul and place her in heaven,” Amirudin wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Anwar announced his mother-in-law’s death at Kuala Lumpur in a Twitter post this morning.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman had apologised to PH Sarawak on the cancellation to his visitation to Miri and Kuching, which was scheduled today.

“I just received sad news from Kuala Lumpur that my mother-in-law passed away this morning. Her funeral is scheduled for 11.30am today at Al Mustaqim Mosque, Ampang.

“I apologise to all of PH Sarawak leaders and supporters for I have to cancel the Miri and Kuching roadshows that were scheduled today. We will meet again soon,” Anwar wrote on Twitter.
