Renewal of MPHS trader licences for 2023 starts this month

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Oct 3 — Those with a trader’s licence issued by the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) can now renew their permits for next year, beginning on October 1 until December 31.

The council said the renewal process can be done at MPHS’ Licensing Department or online via the Smart Selangor website at https://www.smartselangor.com.my/my-account/

“Among the documents necessary for renewal include this year’s trader’s licence, a copy of their anti-typhoid vaccination certificate (applicable to eateries only) and a copy of the temporary permit bill payment issued by the Building Department.

“For industrial factories, permit holders must also bring the appointment letter of the bulk waste management contractor, and the Companies Commission of Malaysia,” it said in a Facebook post.

MPHS added that permit renewal for several activities including entertainment, high-risk, medical centres, cyber cafes, temporary licences, temporary business permits, walkway permits and dog’s licences, cannot be done online but must be carried out in person.

It said any licence holder can be subject to enforcement actions, if they fail to comply with the renewal process within the stipulated time.

For further information, contact the Licensing Department at 03-60641331 ext. 159/160.
