Seek help via Sehat hotline if experiencing stress — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Oct 25 — Individuals who are experiencing stress, anxiety or depression are urged to reach out to the Selangor Mental Health (Sehat) hotline and speak to qualified counsellors.

State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud also advised those facing such problems should not take the matter lightly as it could lead to other mental health issues.

“Depression is an emotional disorder which requires treatment and therapy. The disease could happen to everyone, regardless of age, sex and race.

“Depression could last for months or even years, so do not take it lightly. Share your concerns with our certified counsellors,” she said on Facebook.

Dr Siti Mariah added that the Sehat counsellors could be contacted via the Sehat 24-hour hotline at 1700-82-7536 or 1700-82-753, through the SELangkah mobile app or visit www.drsitimariah.com/sehat.
