Selangor Penyayang roadshow in Hulu Selangor postponed to make way for GE15

KLANG, Oct 23 — The Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow (JSP) in Hulu Selangor, which was scheduled to be held early November, will be postponed to avoid clashing with the 15th general election (GE15).

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the roadshow, which focuses on welfare programmes, will make its last stop before the GE15 in Sepang, on October 29 and 30.

“The roadshow began on June 19 and Klang is its seventh series. We will visit the last district, which is in Sepang, next week before the general election.

“We will resume the roadshow in Hulu Langat in December after GE15 so that there won’t be any issues. The roadshow will be concluded by year-end.

“The state government plans to organise roadshows at a smaller scale in the future,  depending on the feedback that we receive once the second phase of the roadshow concludes,” he said at a press conference at Stadium Sultan Suleiman, here today.

During the roadshow in Klang, Amirudin launched the Skim Insurans Am Selangor (Insan) and handed over various initiatives to the people including Notice 5A (landowners’ offer letter, blueprint assistance, the Selangor Empowerment and Entrepreneurs Development (i-SEED) assistance and aid to schools and farmers.

The Menteri Besar also handed over electric bicycles to the enforcement department of the district and land offices in Selangor.

Themed ‘Fostering a Caring Family’ (Membina Keluarga Penyayang), the event in Klang had also featured various activities and programmes including free health screening, sale of basic food items and public exhibition.

Also included were lucky draws, e-sports competitions, colouring contests and traditional sports such as tug of war, arm wrestling and penalty shootout.

The previous series of the roadshow were held at Taman Kosas, Ampang Jaya, Dataran Pantai Morib, Kuala Langat, Stadium Utama, Kuala Selangor, Dataran Boulevard Laman Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya, Petaling Jaya, Padang Awam Batu Caves, Gombak, and Stadium Sungai Besar, Sabak Bernam.
