SIBS 2022: More exposure for green tech at SDEC

By Nasuha Badrul Huzaini

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 9 — There is much in store for green technology’s future, as many people are becoming increasingly informed of its advantages and how it helps to address the global climate change crisis.

Via the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC 2022), many industry players were gathered to exchange ideas and insights into the advancement of green technology.

One such individual is Eclimo Sdn Bhd (Eclimo) chief operating officer David Chuah, who has considerable experience when it comes to participating in such exhibitions.

Yet in his 12 years of experience he has never received so many inquiries from real users.

“Eclimo is a 100 per cent Malaysian-owned electric vehicle (EV) company, founded in June 2008 to champion our nation’s contributions towards sustainable energy and unveiling the wonder of the exciting global revolution of electric vehicles.

“This is our first time participating in SDEC and we are quite impressed with the convention. The visitors kept us occupied with their questions regarding EVs, and we never expected this level of response from both industry players and public visitors.

“The Selangor state government has done a good job in hosting this event,” he said when met at the expo yesterday.

Meanwhile, Ers Energy Sdn Bhd (Ers Energy) sales and business development manager Andy Soe said the company’s participation in SDEC is meant to create more public exposure to green energy.

“We want to educate more people on solar power, and SDEC is one such good initiative from the state government.

“The responses have been pretty positive throughout the four-day expo, as we received many visitors at our booth who were keen to know more about our offerings,” he said.

Ers Energy is a multi-award winning solar panel company with 12 years experience of solar photovoltaic solutions provided across Malaysia and the Asean region.

SDEC is one of the Selangor International Business Summit 2022’s components, with two main tracks — namely the Smart City Track and Digital Economy Track.

Held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from October 6 to October 9, this year’s summit featured approximately 906 booths from 623 companies, with over 40,000 visitors during its duration.

It showcased six main components, including the Selangor International Expo (SIE) Food and Beverages, SIE Medic, Selangor Industrial Park (Spark) Expo, the Selangor Asean Business Conference (SABC), the Selangor Smart City and Digital Economy Convention (SDEC), and the Selangor Research and Development and Innovation Expo (SRIE).

Asides from SDEC, two other events were also be held concurrently, including the Selangor International Culinary Festival (SICF) and the Selangor International Healthcare Conference (SIHC).
