SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — The Malaysian Meteorology Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in six Selangor districts until noon today.
The districts are Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang.
In a statement issued at 9.30am today, MetMalaysia said that a similar weather condition will also be experienced in Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and two other states, namely Melaka and Negeri Sembilan.
The warning by MetMalaysia is issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm/hour or expected to take place for over an hour.
The thunderstorms warning is a short-term warning which is valid within six hours after it was issued.
