SHAH ALAM, Nov 23 — All 796 temporary relief centres (PPS) in Selangor have been equipped with basic facilities for the convenience of flood victims, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the centres provided personal space for each family, clean water supply, electricity, toilet and other necessities.

“Necessity items such as hygiene kits, counselling kits, 10,345 tents as well as 332 mobile partitions are provided at the 11 districts throughout the state,” he said when answering a query from Ijok state assemblyman Dr Idris Ahmad about the PPS during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here today.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said the state government always ensures that flood assistance applications are processed smoothly without misappropriation or overlaps.

“Immediate assistance is being channelled to those who submitted a complete application and to victims who registered with the PPS.

“Flood victims who did not evacuate to the PPS must attach a police report to prevent any misappropriation,” he said.
