SHAH ALAM, Nov 16 — Solving the flood issues is among the six main offers of Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) candidate for Shah Alam parliamentary seat Azli Yusof if he is given the mandate in the coming 15th general election (GE15).

Azli also pledged to fight for the cost of living of the city’s residents in addition to creating an e-business hub to help people generate income through entrepreneurship.

“It is not a new thing, and YB (honourable) Khalid Samad, the former MP here, has done so much work and has taken care of the welfare of Shah Alam people,” he said when presenting the six offers at the Shah Alam Parliament Community Service Center in Section 13, here yesterday.

“However, we want to start (to be) in line with the current development trend in Shah Alam, which we will boost further for the well-being and welfare of the people here,” he said.

Among other things, Azli is also offering insurance coverage for e-hailing workers and is determined to deal with traffic congestion as well as increasing the number of schools.

Meanwhile, Azli said the GE15 campaign for Shah Alam has been well received over the past 10 days.

He said most of the residents in the constituency expressed their full support for Harapan.

“Alhamdulillah, when I visit prayer halls, mosques, and interact with young people, including walkabouts in restaurants, night markets, and farmers’ markets, from those discussions, about 70 to 80 per cent of them support Harapan.

“InsyaAllah (God willing), with the support of the Shah Alam people and the continuous hard work of our party, we are confident that victory will be on Harapan’s side in GE15,” he said.

Azli, who also the Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) deputy chairman, has called on the people of Shah Alam to exercise their responsibility to vote on November 19.

“I call on voters to go out and vote en masse this Saturday. Harapan’s victory in Shah Alam carries great meaning because it will contribute to a seat for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to become the 10th Prime Minister.

“Give Harapan one term to prove our ability to lead the country,” he said.

The Engineering Management graduate from the University of Missouri-Rolla was announced by the Election Commission (EC) as the number one candidate on the ballot against three other challengers.

He will be competing against Dr Afif Bahardin (Perikatan Nasional), Isham Jalil (Barisan Nasional), and Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali (Pejuang).
