SHAH ALAM, Nov 15 — The ongoing 15th general election (GE15) is not a platform for the candidates to discuss who will be the president of a party or future Prime Minister.

Instead, Selangor’s Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the general election is a crucial platform to determine a better future for the country.

“The GE15 would determine the country’s future, this is not about who and from where. We are not looking for someone that can take us to the moon, or is tall, dark and handsome.

“This is the country’s future. We are not going to determine who is Umno’s president or the Prime Minister in 10 years to come,” he said at a ceramah event here last night.

Amirudin, who is also the Selangor Menteri Besar, asserted that the country was in political unrest under the administration of Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional for three years.

“Both of them said they are stable and clean. However, the country’s political scene has never been stable since February 2020, and I am not going to explain that since the traitor is contesting in Gombak.

“Since then, the country has been facing various crises and challenges from politics to economic, pandemic and even environmental aspects,” he said.

Earlier on, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said there is no conflict in BN including one between him and BN president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Ahmad Zahid who is also the BN candidate for the Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat had informed that Ismail will be re-elected as the Prime Minister should the coalition be given the mandate to form a government.
